All I can say is Honesty is the best policy and if they offer you the position and find out within a probation period that you gave false information at interview it could come back to bite you.
So now you have to decided do you tell them your real circumstances or do I wait to see if I am offered the position.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
You are off sick because you hate your job? Since when did that become grounds for sickness absence?!0

I dont know explicitly how the NHS works but in the private sector being off sick at the time of doing an interview wouldnt be something that would cause you to answer yes to the question.
Saying you hate your current job would be a no no however, even if it is true, and obviously if they find you were on long term sick during your application etc then they may have concerns on the honesty front as it sounds like your pulling a long term sicky0 -
I have got to be honest and say that since we (public sectir, not NHS, but I bet it's the same) do check sickness absence, I would at best require an explanation of three weeks + sickness absence. And "I hate my job" would not go down well! But then, if someone walked into an interview and told me that they were applying to work for me because they hated their job, neither would that! I don't want to know this, I don't need to know this, and it would put me off any candidate who said it.0

to mynameistallulah, being signed off because i hate my job is except able as i am being constantly bullied, to which i do not have to put every single piece of info about personnel matters on here0

No you don't have to put personal matters on here. But then you invite the response you got, which was a fair response. Hating your job is not a reason for sickness absence. Lots of people hate their jobs, but it doesn't mean that they are sick. The reason for sickness absence is because you are sick - and at no point have you said you were sick!0 -

The answer to bullying is to issue a grievance and follow the procedure through, not to go off sick for no valid reason.0 -

Oh dear you hate your job, well so have I numerous times but stuck it out till something better came along, never bullied mind but did have to put up with a lazy so and so who was a c0cky little git who went through stages(think it was his time of the month) of being polite to me and being an ignorant kn0b.
The correct procedure is as tallulah has mentioned and not go on the sick.0 -
So, you're signed off sick but have attended an interview for another job?
You'd better hope that your reference does not include a print out of sick leave dates, or your future employer will see that you were signed off when you went to see them.
If you don't get the job, then what? You can't go sick forever. What is the reason for your doctor saying you are unfit for any duties?
Your problem with your current employer won't go away and staying off sick is just delaying the inevitable... you need to put in a grievance and follow internal policy.:hello:0 -
If you're signed-off sick, and not capable of currently doing your job, I would have thought a prospective employer would want to know that...."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
