I'm buying a property with a local firm who up until now have been ok, my conveyancer had received the draft contract and sent off searches two weeks ago and then went on holiday. My case was supposed to be handed over to someone else while she is away. I've sent two emails to her and had no reply, and everytime I've phoned the firm shes 'busy' I've left voicemails and she hasn't called back. There can't be too much more to do with the sale as the sellers solicitors say they are ready to complete. I'm at a loss what to do?

In your initial letter sent to you by the solicitors, there will be a named partner who is responsible for complaints.
Contact them instead.0 -
Given it being a local firm,. I would be turning up at their office tomorrow morning.

Ha well I left an angry voicemail and my solicitor phoned me back within minutes. She said searches are back and they have the offer and leasehold and will need to check to see if further enquiries
Are needed. There is no chain and the sellers have already moved out, how long am I looking at for exchange and what other things are left to be done generally?0
