How much is fair to charge for a cancelled furniture order?
Comments

Bottom line is they don't have to take it back so imho they can charge what they like.0

Unless I am miss reading it, the OP is saying the order was cancelled before any delivery attempt took place and so it is not a case of "taking it back" but a case of simply never fulfilling the order.Bottom line is they don't have to take it back
The salesman seems to have claimed the item was already instock at the point of order and so in theory was still sitting in the warehouse when the OP decided they no longer wanted it and cancelled the order.0 -
If it was done in store, surely the contract begins at point of sale and they don't have to accept any cancellations.
Being able to get anything back, given this, sounds reasonable - 30% isn't that bad.
It pays to make sure you can accept said furniture before hand - of course life has a way of messing around with things but it's all about minimising risk.0
