AVOID Screwfix

Second time I,ve spent the whole day waiting for a delivery...they demand a signature. This time not even next day as they prominantly claim. Then I get an e-mail saying not even dispatched yet even though when ordered confirmed in stock and would be received today.Funny how they had no trouble taking the money though.

Utterly crap compnay.

I use screwfix a lot for gear for my electrical business.
Overall the service is ok but it appears .That the delivery side is letting them down.Especially before 12 service. The beauty of this company is that if you complain loud enough they usually send you a voucher.I got 25 quid back because some goods didnt show.
The staff that pick up the phones can sometimes be unhelpful but use this to your advantage.Let them slip up by being rude then take their name.If you then use the email system on the website 'write a complaint and say you will not use them again. You usually get a call the next day or so to appologise and they usually give you something.Over the last 2 yrs I have probably had about 100 quid back of them. Also if you pay for b4 12 delivery and it is even 1 minute late ring up and they will refund delivery charge.
  • I have used screwfix for quite a few years and have never had a problem. Recently though some stuff did not appear. On talking to them they have opened a new warehouse and all is not well with the computer system. I notice tonight that the web site is not accessible. They say they will get it sorted, hopefully quite soon.

Have also used them alot with on and off success in meeting their delivery times, however after a bit of a moan usually get a £20 voucher for the trouble. Still can be a pain if you have waited in however they are excellent in taking back stuff you dont want and even pick it up free. For low value stuff they usually just give you a credit and dont bother to take it back.

Bottom line is they are very good value-just compare the prices with your local DIY store

We've had that problem lately. We ordered a heated towel rail, but when it came it was tiny (our fault, never thought to check the dimensions - doh!!)

So hubby rang up and told them, they said fine. We re-ordered a large towel rail which was £60 more than the original one.

Original one collected 13th October, had a letter from them this week showing refund to card but heard nothing about the replacement.......

Their website is down and when hubby rang they said they werent taking any orders at the moment - but surely they had the order on the 11th October when he rang to arrange the collection and replacement??? ???

Seems strange, as we've been using them for a while and had no complaints up til now...

I just pop in now and then.... :)
