Hi all
Hopefully a quick question. I bought an electric hob from B&Q in 2008 and fitted it in a property I rent out. Now 2 of the rings have gone. It's now outside the manufacturer's warranty. I was wondering about using the Sale Of Goods Act against the retailer on the grounds it didn't last long enough but just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on whether 4 years is now too long and whether the fact it's been put in a rented property will scupper my chances? It cost about £85, so I don't suppose I can claim it should have had an Aga-like lifespan!!
Thanks in advance

To be honest I wouldn't expect an £85 hob to last much longer than 4 years. I suspect if they was to offer a remedy it would be a partial-refund, likely in the region of £10-£200

Oh dear! Oh well-thanks for advice. Worth checking just in case but I wasn't holding out much hope. Just irritating its so far away from where I live, so the sparks will have to go in for me ££££££££££££££££:-(0
