Home/contents insurance for flatshare (but close/trusted)

Hi all,
My friends and I (couple + 1 other than myself) live in a flatshare. We're all on the tenancy lease with our landlord, all our rent and bills go out of a central account (under my name) and we haven't had any issues since I can remember and we trust each other in a family-esque way.
I've called a few insurers about getting home/contents insurance and got knocked back from most of them.
Can anyone recommend an insurer for our situation and how best to ask for what we want? (I assume cover as individuals or even a single policy for us all?)
Cheers

If you used the Aggregators (eg confused.com) you can request a single policy to cover you all and those insurers that are comfortable with this arrangement will quote. It may be best to the lead name insured as one of the couple so that it becomes partner + 2 unrelated rather than +3 unrelated to the lead name.
As you will have unrelated people in the property you will almost certainly have limited theft/ vandalism cover such that it is only covered with evidence of violent or forced entry.
If you cant get anywhere from the aggregators then try the likes of Endsleigh which deals with a lot of flat shares with students etc0
