There are no special policies for this purpose. If it was staying off the road not to be driven on the public road at all then you could get a lay up policy, but for the use you describe a normal road use policy will be necessary, so the standard buying guides apply.0

If its going on the road to be fixed then its not a layup policy. Its a standard policy.
Get the garage to collect it on trade plates if required.
I dont think a layup policy will show as being insured so will flag up as uninsured and impounded.
