Balance Transfer from MBNA Amex Account

I have been trying to make a balance transfer from my MBNA American Express account to my Barclaycard account. When I enter either the Amex or Visa card numbers into the Barclaycard website it gives an error saying I cannot transfer from that card!

Is this because there are the 2 cards on the MBNA account and the transfer cannot be distinguished betwen the two? Any help appreciated before I have to try and negotiate the telephone systems!!

Thanks

Maybe it's because the Amex card has only 15 digits, not the usual 16?

I think you're going to have to phone them and see if they can do it manually.
  • Thanks for the feedback. I called up Barclaycard and the transfer went through manually.
