ESA stopped and closed?

I was on ESA from 7th February to 29th April, due to my partner undergoing a major operation to remove part of her bowel. It was subsequently found to be cancerous. Obviously I had a lot on my plate with care for my partner and young children.
The ESA stopped 0n the 7th March. When things were calming down the Housing called me. It was only then I found that that they had actually closed the file. I have written and sent the sick note in, and they have yet to reply.
I ask now what course I can take as they owe me over £500, but because the Housing want £695 in over payment because the ESA has closed, when i really only owe two weeks a I have started work on the 30th April, and they have 13th May as the end.
The ESA have sent no correspondence, but Housing knew this as they were the ones that told me that my ESA had stopped

Your post is somewhat confused.
Why was your ESA terminated?
Did you miss a medical?
On what grounds were you claiming?
Are you arguing that the council tax and housing benefit should have known you had no income because you were not on ESA?0 -
ESA terminated because I didn't send in the second note. Medical cancelled as it was the day after I found out that I had a job. I moved from JSA to ESA on the advise of my Jobcentre advisor, because of the condition of my partner, and the care of our children. So I could focus really.
The Housing knew that the ESA had stopped and why. They told me in a phone call when they called to suspend Housing and Council tax, having said that, I had written to end both. No reply.0 -
I am confused - are you saying that ESA was paid to you because of your partner's illness?0

It is rather confusing - what benefits does your partner receive?0
