The refund doesnt count as a payment; but if it was the ONLY transaction on the statement then it would have cancelled out any further payment being due.

As there was a further £80 on the last statement then have been advised correctly to pay that... Assuming that the £600 has actually been refunded in time..

This is the most sensible route anyway - rather than being forced to put into credit..

best off using the credit card; afterall how would the current account fair if they were to charge you twice by mistake!..

you might be becoming a little neurotic with the card, afterall had you paid the credit card just after the original transaction - you would have now been worried about how to get the credit balance back..

I am completely neurotic, you're absolutely right, which is a result of having a mother who has constantly bleated "never get into debt! never be in a position when you end up paying interest!" so I get my knickers in a knot quite easily. Although I have never been in debt so aside from being neurotic it has had its benefits.

I will check my online statement a few days before it's due and see what it says I will be paying.

Go commando then.... an easy solution to knicker knotting issues and who knows what other benefits it may bring
