Anyone had wooden windows made in Romania or similar?

We have just been refused planning for uPVC in our renovation project. Has to be oak, or baltic pine to fit in with area.
Costs for all windows and doors are horrendous...and some one suggested we look into having them made in Romania where the labour rate is about five quid an hour, (as opposed to thirty over here) and shipping would be about 500 quid.
Anyone know anything about this? I've had a look for websites, but there is not a lot out there
cheers

Hello, I think you may be able to get oak windows from France. There is a company called [not sure that spelling is correct] this company is similar to sells a very wide range of products. You would of course have to check the quality. Oak seems to be plentifull over there. They may have a website.
Good luck finding your windows.

Don't see a problem with mentioning a company name, in fact without the name your post is a bit pointless. If you have the knowledge then please share it0 -
I didn't know you couldn't mention names either...did you get a ticking off from a moderator?0

Hiya, no I did not get a ticking off. I think they may have been in bed at that time in the morning - I am a night owl. I acted quickly, okay I panicked, and edited my post. I am still not sure if I can mention the company so I won't on a post. Thank you for asking. Did you find a website? They have loads of stuff.
