Hi
I have looked through the threads but can't find what I'm looking for, I appologise if what I'm aout to ask has already been answered.
I'm claiming my charges back off both my ex-bank and credit cad company, what I'd like to know is....
Can I claim "cash advace handling charges" from the credit card company?
Many thanks in advance
Noel

No. These cash advance charges are usually passed onto the merchant when you buy something in a shop. As you are getting the cash in your hand (from an ATM or bank) there is no merchant, and so the fee is passed onto the customer; you.

Retailers dont get charged a 'cash advance fee' at all. They have to pay an interchange fee which is often a small amount per transaction and/or a % amount. These are usually absorbed by the retailer so you still pay same price.
Cash Advance Fee's are for a service and not a penalty and thus not reclaimable0 -
Sorry, thats what i meant to say, but I didnt write it correctly. Jamalfatty is correct, the merchants get charged a fee when using the CC, but when withdrawing cash this "fee" is passed onto the customer.Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34
