Just received a text message from what is supposed to be from PayPal.

The header (where the number should be) says PayPal and the text reads:
Paypal inportant security update, kindly follow the link below.

https://www.patpai dot kutyas dot com

Failure to comply might lead to account suspension.

Thanks, PayPal

I know its a phishing text but just wanted to warn people not to enter there information.

How do you report this sort of thing? or deal with it as never received a phishing text before.

just delete it after marking it as trash, Paypal know about these and will just tell you to delete it, there are millions of emails like it.

When you say a test message - was it to your phone?
Paypal have an email address to forward phishing messages to - I think it's "spoof@paypal.com", but you might like to double-check.

I know you don't want to go to the website above but could you modify the address so no-one else can by mistake?
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

  • i would just forward the url from the text message to spoof@paypal.com
