Is there a limit on how many bank accounts(current & savings) one person can open/have?
How will the number of bankaccounts affect my credit rating?

Savings accounts won't affect your rating at all, they don't appear on your credit report.

You can have as many current accounts as you are approved for - having many doesn't necessarily exclude you from more. High overdraft limits (used or unused) will show on your report, which may have an affect (having too much available credit), but as long as the accounts are managed well you should be ok.

Gone are the days of people staying with a bank for life, people switch all the time, and other banks will presumably realise this, with some people not closing the old ones. I personally have five current accounts at the moment, all in use, all with different benefits to having them

Providing your bank accounts don't have a credit facility attached to them you won't notice any impact on your credit rating.
It's quite normal to have multiple current/savings accounts.
