Using Barclaycard to get cash

Can anyone advise please? I've just checked my bank account this morning and someone who owes my business money hasn't paid it in as promised. I'm sure they will, I think they might be away and some people just don't understand the urgency to pay small businesses. It means that I can't make a payment due tomorrow. I need to raise 2000 or so. This is well within my personal Barclaycard credit limit but can I take this much out in cash? My cash limit online shows as around £4000. How do I do it?

I know it's an expensive way to do it but I don't know any other option. My business bank account doesn't have an overdraft facility and I only have one other credit card and my personal bank account doesn't have this amount in it either. I will be able to repay the card within 2 weeks even if this person doesn't pay me.

I've never been in this situation before - can anyone either suggest another option or let me know if I can use the Barclaycard.

Thank you.

Go to a branch and ask them to give you a temporary overdraft?
  • or dont make the payment till you get paid?

I withdraw cash on my Barclaycard now and again and never had a problem...nor has it affected my credit rating (I do pay it off in full by payment due date though) Just pop into your local Barclays branch with your card & photo ID and they'll sort you out. Just bear in mind that you'll get charged a cash advance fee (around 3%) and interest will be charged until repaid in full.

So as a one off, it'll cost you sixty quid + a score or so in interest... Not great, but not the end of the world. Pop into the bank and they'll give you cash there and then.
