DivX, Xvid converter

Hi, sorry to ask this question again, i know other people have asked before but i dont seem to be getting anywhere with it.
I have a DivX DVD player and wanted to burn some of my DVD's off my hard drive to a disc and test it out. I have my DVD's stored as DVD files, taken from my DV camera through Adobe premier (Video_TS and Audio_TS folders) and within these folders are lots of files (.bup, .mpeg and .ifo) all for the same film. I have tried Gordian Knot and Divx Converter but they both say i have incompatable file formats, and from the whole folder of files only allows me to select 1 as the input.
In a perfect world i would like a programme that will read any files and convert to decent DivX, free software or not. I will settle for converting my Video_ts files to another format then to DivX if it will work but so far i havn't managed it. So if anyone can help me, point me in the right direction for some good software or advice it would be most appreciated.
Thanks

Hi jellyhead
Just some information to get you started.
In the video_ts folders there are three types of file:-
IFO = Information file to tell a DVD player how to handle that DVD.
BUP = Backup of the IFO file.
VOB = Video Object. These are the files which contain the video information in DVD compliant form ie MPEG2.
So I think that you need some software that will re-encode just those VOB files to DivX format.
Let Google be your friend.

If you have all the files in that format all you need to do is burn them to DVD using Nero or something and you will have a 'proper' DVD.
Why are you trying to convert them to DivX ?It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
just google dvd ripper.
Imtoo Dvd ripper will do it, you can get a free trial at their website. http://www.imtoo.com/
unsure of the limitations on the trial (as i used a serial, could send you one, cough cough)
or there should be free alternatives out there..0 -
