Classic car Insurance wouldn't accept my Son's Fiancee because she was under 25 (If I remember rightly).

i think youll find now that footman aswell as many other classic insurers/brokers have raised their age limit from 21 to 25. to prevent youngsters driving about newly passed in a old nissan skyline for £500 a year.

They've definitely raised the costs. We've checked on comparison sites so whether they just churn out numbers then tell you when you go to buy that he's too young, we've yet to find out.
He's going to ring Footman today, can't get a quote online it seems.
  • You could try classicline. Competitive for us oldies, don't know about youngsters

It's unlikely you will find an insurer to imsure a 19 year old on a classic car insurance policy. These policies also tend to have restrictions on the type of driving (no business use or even commuting), and the maximum number of miles per annum allowed, and may insist the car is garaged. They normally don't provide for any NCD accrual either. Exactly what car is this 19 year old thinking of getting?

When I was in the TSSC, admittedly a few years ago, they had a deal with FJ to insure all members, even 17 year olds.
