in Credit cards
I want a credit card to buy a ps3. Because i won't be able to pay this all off in one go, i decided, after reading articles on here that a 12month 0%apr would be best for me.
Decided to apply for the Halifax one, i bank with them anyway, but i was turned down.
I have just moved into my first own property at the beginning of this year and now have a mortgage, also with halifax.
I have a pay monthly mobile phone bill which i pay every month. I have a work credit card, do i need to declare this?
I have my debit card, which, in the past i have had bank charges on, in the process of claiming those back now, but would that affect it?
Also, would it be worth me applying for another card with somebody else?
Any questions, please ask.

When you applied for the halifax card it would have asked you on the form if you had anyother credit cards.
If you did not declare your work card the computer would have picked this up and once it did the check it will have put a big fat tick next to a box marked 'liar'.
Now, the next time you apply for a credit card you are also going to have to tick the box marked 'have you ever been turned down for a credit card' and get flagged up on this also.
Many cards offer 0% but they only want the cream of credit card customers.
The sort of people who only want to buy one thing and pay back the money with no intrest won't make them much money.
Why not work out how soon you can pay back the amount you need to borrow and see what it would cost you on an overdraft on your bank account.
Taking out a credit card just to buy a £400 luxury item is not the most practical idea in the world is it?0
