Trying to charge my elderly neighbours to have their house advertised in the paper!!! (WHAT?!)
Both agencies 'linked' under the same group.
Now I know for a fact both EA are within some of the most expensive (on fees) in the area, is this not a ploy to take advantage of ppl who might just say yes!!
Very, very poor IMO...

I live in Olney and their fees are certainly the highest. Most of the staff are just kids.0

What does it say in their contract/terms of business?
Different agencies have different fee levels and different chrging structures.
It's called, variously, capitalism, competion, market forces, freedom, etc
If a consumer does not like their fees, they can go elsewhere.....0 -
Also worth finding out how useful it is to actually advertise in the local paper nowadays.
Practically all the EA's I have discussed this with told me that 5 years ago the local paper was very important, but now it is not the case. This surprised me, but the EA's were pretty consistent in what they said (apart from Haart). They don't sell houses through the paper, it is just basically expensive (£1,200 a week) advertising to raise the profile of the EA. Right move is much more important around here.
Does depend on the contract your neighbours have signed, but no point in them shelling out for no benefit. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Oh for goodness sake... just because they are 'elderly' does not automatically make them vulnerable - they may just prefer the service they have been offered. Your neighbours can CHOOSE to pay or not to pay - it's really up to them.
It's called business - they name a price and the customer chooses to accept it or walk away.:hello:0
