Savings account to pay regular amount to current account

My MIL is 79, frail and lost her husband three weeks ago. She has a current account at Barclays, and various building society accounts, some ISAs and some not. When the legal processes of probate etc are finished she will probably have £80,000ish in total. What she needs is to have the money rationalised into one or two savings accounts, but we want one where she can set up a regular monthly standing order of (say) £500 to her current account, so that she has enough money in the current account for all her day to day needs. This will obviously mean eroding the capital but that is not a problem. Her health is not good and so we are certainly not looking at long term investments.
There are products which allow you to have the income paid into the current account, but she would need more than that.
The local shops, which she can reach on foot, include Barclays and Lloyds, plus a post office and a Sainsburys Local. There are building societies within a few miles but would rather not have to visit them after initial set-up.
She would not be able to cope with telephone banking and certainly not online. We are looking into a power of attorney to enable us to help but she needs to have something simple for every day, as we live 300 miles away and her daughter is over 3 hours away.
