Do washine machine PCB's need reprogramming

Ok boring thread alert..but could be of big help to me.
I recently had a bad main pcb on my Indesit W123 and was able to source a new pcb main board for it.
Same problem persists after I fitted the replacement used part so I'm wondering if fitting a replacement main pcb board from another similar machine will it need reprograming to my machine to work..if you see what I mean!

Never heard of a need to program. Maybe some jumpers on the board to select the right options (I presume you compared the boards side by side for this)

Actually I stand corrected by myself! this thread on Whitegoods indicates you do need some kit to set it up.
