damp problem

Hi

I have a damp problem, i've came to UK from Austria to London to study but in my flat is damp and i have no idea what to do.
I've read recently that electro-osmosis method is quite good, but i have no idea where to call for help.

Any help is welcome,

Greetings!

  • Hi,

I think you need to give more details - describe where and when you experience damp.

    Is it a basement flat?
What rooms and where in the rooms?
    Etc etc

    Greetings!

I am assuming as you area student, that you are living in Rented Accomodation. If it is some problem with the house, your Landlord should sort this out. A dehumidifier will help a bit with reducing moisture in rooms but this would only be a temporary measure and wouldn't rectify the problem.

Some more detail would be helpful as regards to where it is exactly etc etc
  • Thanks for all answers, Landlord has told me to call to "tagema" company, something like this, they produce devices against it, he said that he'll pay for all so it should be fine!

Btw, damp is on the ceiling in one of two bathrooms. "Infected" one is from east site, the other one is on north, so maybe there is a difference, it's not large, but as far as i know it is quite danger for health so i won't tolerate it.

You need to find other things to read, as electro-osmosis is crap and wont be relevant to your ceiling "damp" in any case - which seems to be condensation going by its location

If you have black mould, then read up on condensation prevention

Anyway, it is for your landlord to investigate and sort out if it is damp. If its condensation, then you need to deal with it
  • My LL has called for this "Tagema" company and we will see results in few days probably, becouse i've noticed damp in some other places in my flat, on walls and so on, so maybe it will help, he said that he took previous device to his home and he forgot to bring it back (have no idea why), but right now he bought the new one, so i think all should be fine. BTW he is a weird guy...
    I'll inform you about results!
  • i'm waiting for your results, because i have similiar problem and i need solution. So be a good guy and leave a message :)
