in Credit cards
I realise that this has been discussed before, some people concluding that it is a genuine part of rbs. But I am assured by a Royal Bank of Scotland person on their official credit card line that "it does not ring any bells."
The "rbs credit card centre" or just "the credit card centre" have been contacting me since November, trying to get me to give my credit card number. They first said that a new payee had been added to my account, then that a credit card had been issued to me. I rang the Royal Bank of Scotland and its fraud dept who assured me that no credit card had been issued. They seemed to think that it was a mistake, with someone entering my phone number instead of someone else's. But since then I have had calls to my landline and mobile, telling me to ring back urgently and give my credit card number.
Since I don't have a credit card with rbs and i can't find their supposed website I feel sure it is a scam. The Royal Bank of Scotland agree with me. But it is alarming that someone has found out the name of my bank and BOTH telephone numbers.
