    Yes, it's back people :)

16 April 4.30pm Leicester Square Theatre

Often described as Japan’s answer to the Blue Man Group, Siro-A perfectly fuse modern technology with mime, breath-taking optical illusions, movement and comedy all set to a pulsating electro beat. This visually stunning show performed to 30,000 people at the Shanghai Expo and won the Spirit of the Fringe award at the prestigious Edinburgh Festival. Spectacular family entertainment fusing video mapping, laser lights and on stage DJ’s to create entertainment for the next generation.

“A brilliant, bright and beautiful show… some of the most manic and animated human performers you are likely to see anywhere. It’s mime, but not as we know it!” Total Theatre Review

“At one point, I couldn't tell the difference between live performer and projected image. This is a spectacular visual experience. This Japanese company overwhelm with staggering technological interactions between multimedia, performer and audience member". Broadway Baby

    Eighth Anniversary
Tickets to Translations at Kings Theatre, Edinburgh for
Tuesday 16th April and Wednesday 17th April at 7.30pm

    About the show:
Set in a hedge school in Ballybeg, in Ireland in 1833, Translations sets the scene for the appearance of members of the British Army who have been tasked to translate place names in the area from ancient Irish Gaelic to the King's English. This clash of cultures results in a series of misunderstandings and misinterpretations that indicate that without a shared method of communication, chaos will prevail and instability will rule the day.

Owen, brother to lame aspiring teacher Manus, returns home after six years away in Dublin. With him is Lieutenant Yolland, who is working on the Ordnance Survey map of Ireland. Owen acts as a translator and go-between for the British and Irish. A love triangle between Yolland, Manus, and a local woman, M!ire, complicates matters and this poignant story is played out onstage, under the much lauded direction of acclaimed actor and director, Adrian Dunbar.

Translations was first performed at the Guildhall in Derry, Northern Ireland, in 1980. It was the first production by the Field Day Theatre Company founded by Tony Award Winner Friel and Stephen Rea. Don't miss your chance to see this creative production of this renowned play from one of the greatest living English-language dramatists.

Cider with Rosie @ Fairfield Halls, Croydon -

We have a few complimentary tickets to:
Cider With Rosie – Fairfield Halls
Thursday 18th April, Friday 19th April and Saturday 20th April at 7.30pm – Fairfield Halls, Park Lane, CR9 1DG

    About the show:
CIDER WITH ROSIE – Adapted from the novel by Laurie Lee

Gloucestershire’s theatre company presents the classic novel of Cotswold life, starring Susie Blake (Mrs Brown’s Boys, Coronation Street, Wild at Heart).
Following the success of The Glass Menagerie, the Everyman Theatre is mounting a new stage version of Laurie Lee’s evocative novel of growing up and life in rural Gloucestershire between the wars. Laurie Lee’s gentle and beautifully touching story recounts the defining moments of his adolescent life, recalling glorious outings, frozen white winters, long hot, hazy summers, tyrannical teachers, erratic family life and of course that first cider-fuelled encounter.
With Laurie Lee’s memories of an idyllic but eventful childhood and a liberal dash of traditional music, we will transport you to Cotswold village life in a not so distant past.

    Book Slam @ The Grand

Book Slam's anticipating a rite of Spring that may be light and airy or full of Stravinsky's dissonance: either way we'll be prepared - dib dib dib. Pack leaders for the night include the inimitable WILL SELF, reading from 'Umbrella', shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize, and PATRICK NESS, author of the bestselling 'Chaos Walking' trilogy, who will introduce us to his latest novel, 'The Crane Wife' - if you can think of a smarter literary pairing, we'll eat your comedy fez. They'll be music from the startling talent that is GEORGE EZRA, and all will be stitched together by Akela, DOMINIC FRISBY.

    CURIOSITY SHOP

    1366885151_curiosityshop.jpg

Nell Trent lives with her grandfather above The Curiosity Shop, a vintage record store. When the shop is repossessed by Quilp, a vicious loan shark, Nell and Grandpa are forced to hit the road. Living rough they meet the usual suspects – con men, Good Samaritans, wide boys and buskers - in cities and villages across England.
Imaginatively translated to the present day, Dickens’ story of love, human frailty and downright wickedness has a fabulous cast of characters, from bent lawyer Sally Brass to wide boy rapper !!!!!! E. Swiveller. Playfully staged and featuring film and a soundtrack that takes in hits from Bach to Bowie, Curiosity Shop shows England to be as much a cultural curiosity shop as it ever was in Dickens’ day…

Suitable for ages 14 and over
    Contains some strong language.
