Credit Card air miles

Hi,
I took out an air miles credit card (white card) with Virgin a few years back, and just wondered if it is worth it or if I should get a better one.
I haven't had any benefits from it and the air miles I have accrued (10,000 I think) don't seem to make flying with Virgin any more affordable. Am I missing something?
Also, I just read this post (can't post links as a new user but it was entitled 'Fuming!-Capital one')
and got kind of scared. On the same Virgin credit card, I signed up to pay a set monthly amount (after a balance transfer) as it was easier whilst I finished my degree. Would this of given me a bad rating?
Thanks

An airline credit card is not meant to make flying "more affordable". I wouldn't get any airline card unless I flew with them at least 3 long haul round trips a year. 10000 virgin miles is worth about £75, but if you don't fly that much then you would rather have that money as cash.
As long as you are paying the minimum payment your credit rating will be OK. The rest depends on your personal circumstances.0 -
So what would be a better credit card for me to have with benefits?
I certainly would rather have the money as cash.0 -
