they cancelled my old direct debit with Halifax, but never set up a new one with themselves, so o2 couldn't take the payment and I will now have a late payment marker on my credit report
Thanks First Direct! :T

It's probably a case of O2 not acting on their ADDACS report rather than First Direct.
Check with FD whether they put the ADDACS change through BACS, if they did, then this is O2's fault.
The BACS Service User Guide states:The Office of Fair Trading (The OFT) is keen to ensure that customers are ‘held harmless’ for errors occurring when changing their bank account. As such service users are encouraged not to charge their customers or register adverse credit data in the event of problems arising as a result of the account switching process.
Hope this helps.43580 -
If it's first directs error, they will arrange for your credit file to be amended.0

Hmm... Thinking this may have more to do with O2 rather than FD as I had the exact same problem. All of my DDs switched fine other than O2.0

Yeah, o2 and PayPal didn't switch over for me. Did you contact o2, and what did they do/say?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
