Once in a life time opportunity, no babysitting options available would be the answer, as I am sure you well know.

There's also the factor of "kids pay their age" to consider. if it's only two or three quid to bring along your toddler then you aren't going to pay for a baby sitter.

I was at Wembley on Sunday and I've never seen so many babies and young children at a football match - none of whom had any interest in the game.

Frankly I'm not concerned if it bothers anyone that I bought my children to the Olympic Games. I paid full price tickets (not all events are "pay your age") for all my family to enjoy and take in the atmosphere of an Olympic event.

They fact that my children would soon lose interest is neither here nor there. LOCOG permits me to purchase tickets for my children, so they have the just the same rights to be there as anyone.

I'm not asking other spectators to look after my children, I will look after them. If you have a problem, take it up with LOCOG, or sit and watch the games from home.
  • We took my friends three year old with us to Equestrian...where he sat quietly for HOURS so he didn't scare the horses. He even shushed people when they cheered loudly for GB's Mary King! Went we then went on to Volleyball he enjoyed cheering U S A until it all got a little too much and he curled up and slept, hugging his Gold Wenlock. He absolutely loved being part of it and is excited to go again this week. :)
We did have issues at Volleyball as no-one seemed to know where we could leave the pushchair but other than that it was all good.
Valuable life advice: never play chicken with a lion...the lion will ALWAYS win!
