Has anyone taken a pushchair to the Olympic Park? We're off to basketball with a 2yr old. Any tips?

Do a check on your venue, I am going to Horse Guards parade and on a search of their venue it states a pushchair storage facility.
I am pretty sure there will be one in the Olympic park. Enter in the name of your stadium/venue on Google and there should be something.0 -
I went yesterday and there were lots of pushchairs. My venue, Riverbank, had a gazebo for the buggy storage.
Have a lovely day.0 -
Thank you. The basketball arena has pushchair storage so it should be fine. We'll fold it up on the train but it's only a 20 min journey into Stratford so fingers crossed it wont be too bad.0

Hi guys, can anyone answer the above question for Wembley Stadium? On the Olympic website for Wembley Stadium ( london2012.com/venue/wembley-stadium/visitor-information ); it says "Please note: Pushchairs are not allowed inside the venue and there is nowhere to store them." - however on the downloadable map ( london2012.com/mm/Document/Documents/Venue/01/24/20/37/KDVENUEWEMFootball_Neutral.pdf ) it clearly shows "Pushchair and Wheelchair Storage" - can you definitively tell me if the Wembley Stadium venue does or does not have pushchair storage facilities?0

Hi,
We're off to Wembley today, the London 2012 FAQ's page says "Every London 2012 venue has a designated storage area for pushchairs, as these are not permitted in seating areas. Please ask a member of staff when you arrive or refer to the venue maps in your spectator guides/on the London 2012 website." we're taking ours as we have a 2 year old and we can't do the journey without it (plus she will need a sleep this afternoon) my view is that if they won't let us store pushchairs then why have they sold us a ticket for a 2 year old. I'll post again when we get back to let you know how we get on!0 -
then why have they sold us a ticket for a 2 year old.
Good question. We went to the archery yesterday, and the seats in front of us were a family including a child I would say was about 3. She clearly had no interest in what was happening and just whined and shouted throughout the whole time they were there (which wasn't long, as they decided to leave, so a waste of their money and seats that someone else could have used).
I don't know why anyone would take such a young child to an event that requires the audience to sit still and be quiet much of the time, it's not fair to either the child or other spectators.0 -

Talk about taking a quote out of context, then adding an answer that isn't at all relevant to the thread.0 -
We went to Wembley Stadium yesterday and can confirm that pushchair storage was available. Simply go through the main gates (rather than the curving ramps either side) and head to your left, you will see some staff there organising the whole thing.
Everything went smoothly, and my fears about taking a pushchair to the event were unfounded.0 -
We had a great time at Wembley, pushchair storage was great and very secure (although lots of pushchairs so allow plenty of time to drop off and pick up.) we also had no problems with taking a cool bag in with food but the liquid restrictions are taken very seriously so take your empty bottles.
food and drink is very expensive so be prepared (unless you want to part with £6 for a hot dog)!
mynameisclaire-I think there are probably other, more suitable forums for your complaints about children at the olympics, this was a thread about taking pushchairs in.0 -

Once in a life time opportunity, no babysitting options available would be the answer, as I am sure you well know.
I would love to go to see the events without the distraction of my two young children, but this is the only opportunity to get to see the games, and people should and do understand. Use the ear plugs they give out for children if you are that distressed0
