Right, according to Google the service station is run by Welcome Break (so, if you want to, send them the £10 fee for staying more than 2 hours), and (as you already said) the parking company is Parking Spy. Ignore them.

I have admitted being the driver and now after a few months of ignoring etc and telling them to take me to court, they have sent a letter saying it has gone up to £120 and if i dont pay they will send bailiffs and ultimately go to court.

You mean you got the next letter in the chain, as already shown in pictures on the PPC Letter Chains thread? The pics are there so you know what to expect and can just play snap with each letter.

Third thread from the top, click on 'PPC letter chains'.

    1. Watch the Watchdog clip on there, and then

    2. scroll down to the pics of your fave PPC's threatograms, then

    3. Play a nice game of 'snap' with each matching threatogram (check with the pics showing the same debt collector letters if not shown under your PPC).

You are worrying about nothing, it's all part of the mail scam. This is no closer to Court or bailiffs than it was or ever will be. They cannot just send the boys round nor just register a CCJ you know!

Please read the current forum (see my signature, it's only ONE click away from any thread); this thread is not current. And also show your family and friends so they also learn about this scam. Spread the word like we do!

  • Hi all, I am at the start of the Parking Eyes process. I was sat in my car at the local Park Inn, I was visiting a friend and we were sat in the car talking. I didn't even leave the car. Got the usual standard letter, £60 fine now or £100 afterwards.

Does it matter whether or not the car park is pay and display? I saw no signs to indicate whether it was or wasn't but I will nip out and check if it makes a difference. If it doesn't then am I best to ignore the stuff completely?

If it is pay as you park then I should pay some sort of money to the hotel I suppose, but if its not then their letter is full of contradictions for a kick off. With it being a hotel I highly doubt it involves the use of a Pay Station.

In an ideal world I would tell my friend to blast the hotel and get an e-mail from them or something to say I was just visiting (as I say, I never even left the car) but I don't want to break the golden rule of appealing, I don't want to give these sharks anything to get a grip with.

So I guess my question is - does it make a difference if it was a pay and display car park not? Also, I am aware some rules and laws have changed, this was issued before the 1st October.

Thanks in advance for the help.

you are taking this far to seriously,,parking eye/spy DO NOT have the power/authority to fine anyone, please just ignore this, and after they send you various threat o grams from p.e. and others, simply bin em, its a SCAM,,read the stickies and for your home work look up the difference between ,,PENALTY charge notice (you dont have this) and PARKING charge notice (oh yes you have this),,one is real , one is fake, find out which one you have ??? and guess what the advice is at the end, please return for more info anytime, now relax and do your home work.

As far as private parking ticket scams are concerned, for a vehicle where you or family are the registered keeper*:

Any fake PCN issued for an incident up until 30th Sept 2012 = IGNORE IT.

Any fake PCN issued for an incident from 1st October 2012 onwards:

    - if you were parked in Scotland or NI = IGNORE IT.

    - if your 'ticket' is from a firm who are NOT members of the BPA AOS = IGNORE IT.

    - if your 'ticket' is from an AOS member in England/Wales, there are 2 choices:

    a) IGNORE IT, as ever, playing snap with the threatograms that match our sticky thread 'PPC letter chains' (near the top of this parking forum), :)

    or

    b) Appeal it with help from here in how to word it, and insist on a referral to the POPLA appeals service if it's not cancelled. Costs the PPC £32 plus, costs you nothing, it's not binding on you but it is binding on the PPC. IF you do not win your appeal then revert to ignore mode. This option is for those who want to fight back, cost the PPC money and test the POPLA system whilst also getting their PPC's tactics scrutinised; start by reading threads about POPLA. :)

Finally, if anyone gets any fake PCN anywhere in the UK in a retail, cinema, fast food or Supermarket car park then COMPLAIN IN WRITING to the CEO of the company on site if you were a customer. Do not appeal to them, complain about this protection racket against their paying ex-customers.

    HTH

    * it is different for hire/lease/company cars as you could find the fake PCN paid for you! Here is a thread about what to do (whether AOS scheme member or not, you need to appeal to hook the PPC in your direction).

  • It was my car, I'm the registered keeper, so I guess it's time to ignore and play snap! I'll probably be one of the handful of unlucky ones who gets taken to court knowing my luck but I'd rather roll the dice than stump up £60 for no reason. :rotfl:

    Thanks.

    Hi All,

I just received a parking charge notice from PE costing £100 and if paid within 14 days will go down to £60.

Do I ignore this as everyone in the forum did? NO.It's just that there seem to be no current post hence I'm worried things has changed?

They have a photograph of my car arriving and departing the car park. Total of 6 hours 5 minutes. I parked in the single yellow line as it is Saturday (14/6/13) and 2120H. Were you there 6 hours?

I actually didn't take notice the signage and thought it's late night, weekend and noticed single yellow line.

Also, I'd like to mention at the top of the Parking Charge Notice it says that they are "Approved BPA operator"
"Member of the BPA" "Healthcare Parking Charter".

Please advise me what to do. Thank you.
answer above and I am sure we can help, you could also start a new thread as this one will get lost and someone could answwer you but think it applies to someone else.
