Ah, I was a bit puzzled with having to be 18 to go. I'm in Scotland though, so I guess I was thinking 16 is an adult. Bit weird how you can get married and have a baby but not have a beer or a cigarette. :rotfl:
Im in Scotland too and we all have British passports so I dont see how 18 can be the magic number here...
Anyhoooo I hope the OP demanded her passport from her dad, I think her parents are being completely out of order here. Surely they raised her properly in which case they should trust her judgement.......Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0 -

I know if it was me I wouldn't waste today communicating with us I'd be making sure I got my damn passport.
I think I can smell a supernatural being in Norse mythology. (who are of course very nice 'people').
I agree. The parents still has a right to hold his passport if they want to... until he's 18, at least. Sorry about your expenses, OP, but you should've asked for a decent permission first before paying anything - doing it the other way around just won't work

Actually - if you look inside and read the blurb on the first page of your passport it tells you it the property of Her Majesty's Government - but that aside - at 16 IPS consider you an adult and therefore you can apply for your own passport - no parents permission is required - that was changed a few years ago.
