Changing bath plug hole.

Hi, I don't think there's an awful lot I can do but our plug hole has become quite tarnished.
Sadly, the bath panel is tiled and sealed, is there anyway it can be replaced without removing the bath panel?

Thanks;)

I wouldnt think so, I believe the join would be under the bath.

Not sure that there is anything around that you could coat it with, but hopefully some one will be along with a suggestion.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

depends on the plug socket. I just refitted my basin plug. I could unscrew it from the bath side and I guess just get a replacement metal plug socket and screw it back in.

However, if you want to fit a new unit (for example, I just fitted a push-shut type plug) then you'll have to remove the panel, as you need to screw the waste pipe into the plug underneath the bath, as well as make sure it doesn't leak!

My advice would be to remove the bath panel. If it is sealed in, get a sealent scrapper, remove the panel, do the work and reseal. Not too difficult!

It's not the plug that needs replacement, the OP said the plughole.

So that means removing the bath panel.

Yes, you have to cut the sealant and reseal after.

In plain terms it needs a complete new bath waste to renew the appearance, all done from under the bath.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
