Kitchen worktops in Surrey?

We are going to replace our kitchen soon and will probably go for Howdens units, but don't really like their laminate worktops. Does anyone know where we can see and buy granite and composite? (Guildford area)

Thanks!

Thanks, but we were there last week and they said we would have to provide it ourselves.. (they didn't mention having any providers). The fitter had no idea where to buy them either!

There are lots of online shops but we really want to see at least some samples...
  • I'm sure there are nearer places but we are using Mole Valley Masonry (recommended on Alan M's thread) who are based near Gatwick and they are fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable fellas (we deal with Martin).

To view we went to Shaw Stone near Fareham, Hants who have a huge range of products on display.

Can i ask why you went to view to one place but decided to buy from another? Were the prices very different...?
  • It was just the way it turned out. Shaw Stone didn't send a quote when we asked and we didn't chase as we were happy with MVM. MVM said they didn't have a warehouse and gave us samples so we went to Shaw (as we were in the area) to see big bits.

    Another vote for MVM.

I also dealt with Martin and Graham. Friendly guys, a wide range of products and well priced. I live in Woking and they delivered the stone, as agreed on time to the spec. I have no complaints.

We will take a look at them, it's a bit far from us but there's nothing really close! We are looking at some sort of composite or engineered stone, granite is a bit expensive (and the choice of colours quite limited), and we definetely don't want laminate.

Based near Gatwick again, gave us an excellent price on Granite, you can take samples away too from memory. Not much of a showroom though, you need to know what you want.

Just an update to say I contacted affordableGranite and prices are amazing! I think we'll definitely go with them. (still waiting for the final kitchen quote, hopefully next week).

The guy on the phone was also very nice , which is always a bonus :)
