Tax Credits Renewal

Hi,

I know you might not be able to give me an absolute answer, but thought I'd post as I've previously received really good advice on here and know there's lots of clever people on here who seem to know things that have escaped me

I sent back my renewal form for working tax credits a couple of weeks ago and haven't heard anything back yet. The first year they asked me abour 2010/2011 my income was significantly lower than they said, so I corrected it. For the next year 2011/2012 my income was higher than the estimate so I corrected this too.

Does anyone have any idea how long it will take me to hear from them? I'm just a bit concerned that there might be a change in my payments and what this will mean for my budget, so need as much notice before the change as possible.

What do you mean, I sent my form back promptly and have given them what I believe to a reasonable time to respond; given that there were changes to what they expected. Should I have already heard?

    hi
i renewed today and was told NOT to contact them until after august 28th, if i haven't received any notifications.

you might have to hold on another couple of weeks to know of any credit changes. if you're very stressed out, give them a call. they won't penalise you just for trying to find out what you'll be getting.

Thanks, I think I'll give them a few days as they're bound to be very busy at the moment. I did try to call yesterday but it was a nightmare and I felt guilty in case I was holding up the line for someone who needed to renew - so I hung up without actually getting through to anyone. If I've not hear by the end of the week I think I'll give it another go.
