I'm helping out a friend with a somewhat bizzare computing set-up. They basically have four computers, all in physically the same place (don't ask, doing anything about that is beyond the scope of my involvement!). They want to be able to switch one mouse, keyboard and monitor between the four. My first thought was a simple KVM, but they'd also like to be able to hit some key combination to get a quad-split view of all four computers (sort of like the workspace switcher view in Ubuntu 12.04, but all the machines are windows, so three VNC clients isn't going to work). Graphics performance isn't a priority, since before some shuffling, they were all being controlled through logmein.

I've been searching around for a while, but have so far drawn a blank on suitable software. I'm sure I've seen something that does it in the past, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. Anyone got any ideas?
Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.
