Generator from Amazon Marketplace Trader

On 20th April I bought a Rhyas1500W Petrol Generator from a company called Ishop247 through Amazon's website for £129.99 plus delivery, came to £141.90. I paid using a Visa Debit card.

After 2/3 weeks of successful use the genny died on me. I contacted Ishop247 directly by phone and arranged to return it to them for repair/replacement which I did on 27th June for £18.

A few days later it was returned to me. Still didn't run correctly but managed to use my strimmer to cut grass for about half an hour.

I rang Ishop247 again who sent me a 'settings' sheet. I followed step 1 to set mixer screw and it died on me again.

I sent an email to their sales dept. asking for my money back. They refused saying that they sent it back to me in full working order, tested by their engineer plus if I think it is faulty I can send it back to them again but if they find no fault I will be liable for full postage costs.

I also sent a claim to Amazon on their A-Z Guarantee Scheme but after a couple of days they turned me down saying I received the Order OK and it was outside 14 days.

So I have paid £159 and have a useless generator. Can anyone help, please.

Given that they are offering to repair the generator again, shouldn't your next step be to return it to them? Then see what they say.

I've done this once already, at a cost of £18. They said they had sent it back to me in 'full working order', but it wasn't.
If I did this again I'll just be out of pocket by another £18, plus if they say the same again they could charge me to send it back to me.

After 3 months of buying a new generator, I've spent £130 plus £12 carriage, plus £18 to return it to them, only had about 3 weeks use out of it and have ended up with a dead generator.

I think enough is enough don't you?

But the seller has offered to remedy the fault, and at present you are refusing to accept that remedy.

Incidentally, they should refund you the £18 postage back to them that you've already paid, as they accepted there was a fault that time.

I doubt the bank will accept a chargeback. It's designed for thins like duplicate transactions, goods not received, etc.. rather than dealing with disputes

I'm not refusing anything at the moment, just asking for advice.
