Sitecom X1 N150 Wireless ADSL Modem Router
http://www.maplin.co.uk/sitecom-x1-n150-wireless-adsl-modem-router-529677
This is a total waste of money. I tested it on two computers and it failed to make an ethernet connection and wireless connection on both computers. I then tried to plug it straight in for an "auto-detect my broadband" scenario to no avail.
I then tried to programme in my talktalk router settings by hand to no avail. The light on the front was always red. There are no labels to tell you what each light is for on the front (you have to look at the back) and it just doesn't want to be set up.
I checked the internet and only found lack of info and people having the same problem. I ended up paying £50 for a Netgear N150 router. This product is a total waste of time, energy and money - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I only bought it because it was getting late for shopping and was forced to "get something for the meantime". On reflection I should of waited until the next day. Oh well.....

forgot to add it has no setup dvd......you just get a pdf manual which a beginner would find mind boggling. On the box it states simple setup, hence I thought it would be ideal....just a plug n play thing, but sods law.....

Setup dvd for a router? For goodness sake, that is asking for trouble.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Could it just be faulty. I have had a couple of sitecom routers over years working without issue.
lack of documentation is common with cheaper routers but quite honestly router set up with any router is pretty straightforward.0
