Have got a cheap (£30) DVD player from asda.
As it is just a player I would like the option to record, is a Hardrive the way to go?
Can you get hardrives that record and playback the information stored BUT also allow you to play DVD's.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

hi ted
bit confused about what you're asking but anyhow: you can buy dvd recorders which basically are dvd players but with the function to record either onto a recordable disc or onto its biult in hard drive, my own recorder (panasonic) has a 'timeslip' function, meaning you can begin to watch a tv programme you are, for eg. recording, from the beginning before it's finished recording, from the harddrive if that makes sense. so like a video recorder only its dvds.
its not really something you buy as an add on as such for an ordinary dvd player that you might have in the lounge with your tv , to my knowledge.
its possible to use the hard drive on your pc to record tv if you have a pc tv card (i think) , then you can burn them to dvd if you want to watch them elsewhere.
hope this helps0
