2 claims not going well:)

Options
ok so i need a little help with claims

first off MBNA, they have written back after i sent off the template letter, they say they will not refund due to the fact it was a online application & I would of had to check the tick box to buy PPI - is it worth taking this to the ombudsman?

Secondly I am claiming off egg i had a loan from, as barclays have bought egg im having some trouble getting my credit aggrement/details from then as this loan was taken out approx 5-6 years ago & i have paid it off. Wheres the best place to snd my letter to reclaim off these people?

No 1. If you ticked the box then you have no chance because you actually chose to have the PPI (ie you werent advised by an adviser personally)

Do you actually have a reason to reclaim from egg (barclays) do you think it was miss sold, just actually saying so doesnt mean it was.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

As per my own experience, and the experience of many, many others, ticking the box is not reason in itself for someone to have "no chance" if the OP decides to go to the FOS. I complained to the FOS after the same rejection reason, and then MBNA wrote back to me with an offer. To say that the OP has "no chance" is wrong
    MBNA Credit Card PPI 1 Upheld - £1314 :)

    MBNA Credit Card PPI 2 Rejected :( - Complained to FOS....MBNA Upholding....Awaiting Figures :)....Cheque Received £5712 :)

I understand what you are saying but if you chose the product and ticking a box shows that you want it.

How can anybody say that they didnt want it. Seems a bit daft to me.

As in 'do you want this bar of chocolate for 50p, yes please, eat it and then say well I didnt want it so I want my 50p back, see what I means.

I agree with you, but the OP does have one chance and it's if the box for PPI was pre-ticked. downey2008 seems to have called MNBA's bluff by going to the Ombudsman, but whether warwks will have the same experience remains to be seen.
