Hi all
I'm in the initial stages of looking at claiming back PPI. I wrote to one company with the initial letter, but received a response from it telling me that they wouldn't be providing any of my details because, in accordance with Section 78 (3) of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, they have no obligation to do so where there is no money payable.
I've checked, and this is the case. Do I have any recourse, or will I have to fork out £10 to make a SAR?
Thanks.

If you have the account number and valid reasons you can skip straight to complaint.letthewookiewin wrote: »I've checked, and this is the case. Do I have any recourse, or will I have to fork out £10 to make a SAR?
You cannot request terms and conditions for closed accounts. You only need a SAR if you want details of all records the Bank holds for you.0 -
Thanks for your reply. I don't know the account number, nor am I 100% certain there was PPI on the agreement. I think there might have been, but couldn't swear to it.0

Hi there,
I have received the same letter from First Direct and I now do not know what I do next. I have also sent letters off to three other companies who have completely ignored my request and that was on 27th June I am hoping they will provide more information. I am in the same position I do not have paperwork or account numbers but I know they has PPI as I was advised that I needed it etc..
Can any one please advise what the best action to take when they stated they do not need to provide this information.
Kind regards.0
