Powerflushing cost and is it worth it?

Hey guys

Just want some advice. I'm thinking about getting the heating system in my house sorted out. Only moved into the house last November so don't know the history on the maintenance on the system. It does have few issues in that takes a while to heat up and some of the rads don't heat up evenly. One of the rads is cold in the middle and warm around the sides. Some of them is warm at top and cold at bottom.

Now is it worth power flushing to fix issues or just clean? How much would it be and does anyone know someone good that could do it in the Hertfordshire area?

You clearly have a sludge rather than an air problem. Powerflushing won't move thick sludge or any magnetite buildup.

Ask your neighbours who they get to service/maintain their systems and book a couple for a chat, a diagnosis and a price.

    Cheers

Yeah tried bleeding the rads, no change with that.

keystone :-( is there anything else that can be done or I can do? I am gonna look into getting plumber over to have a look at it all. I thought getting it done in the summer would be best rather than relying on it in the winter. Was also thinking of getting one of those magnetic filters put in.

cbrpaul wish I could but this would cost an absolute fortune to do. The system is 20 years old from what I gather and the boiler looks the same although touch wood that seems OK atm. (touch wood) :-).
I think also that makes it a worse is that it is microbore system I think (I'm no expert)
