You WILL still get your smells but they will be less bad. Keystone was right in that the stack MUST be vented to atmosphere. The reason being that 's hit' stinks. The build up of methane gas in the sewers, which is what you small, has to vent to atmosphere as it's lighter than air.

So if you have a Durgo (air admittance valve) that doesn't let anything pass, the the pressure of the methane builds up and eventually 'burps' out via (normally) your bath trap as that is the one that requires least pressure to push past.

The simple fact of the matter is that If you want a mal-odour free home you will have to take a pipe up through the roof to vent the soil stack. You can do it with a smaller diameter pipe but it has to be a minimum of 2" pipe.

    Have fun.

Well we don't have a bath, we have a double shower cubicle and I have to say the smell has subsided significantly. Before the smell was so pungent everyone complained of feeling sick when they went for a pee the smell was so strong :D I spent £4 on air fresheners at the weekend and still you couldn't smell them, only the sewer ! Now I don't really need an air freshener so it has to be an improvement, plus it will save me a fortune ! :rotfl:

By the way, we cannot put in an additional pipe to the outside to vent the smell because we live in a housing association property and are not responsible for the exterior construction of the bungalow and are not permitted to erect even a Sky dish ! ;)
