Remote car key battery flat
Hi,
We have an old rover 45, and the remote key function stopped working. How do you change the battery? There is no obvious opening bit on the key fob. And while we of course can lock/unlock the car manually, it sets the alarm off. Ther I a number on the fob that probably is the battery type, bot hoe do you open the thing?
Grateful for any advice!

always best to change the FOB battery of a rover out of its transmitter range.older rover fobs usually breakdown because the transmitter in the fob detaches from the PCB board. once fixed will need recoding to the car.
always replace the battery when you have a new one, even though the battery is flat theres enough current to keep the code stored to the chip,so dont dispose of it or take it out and then a few hours later replace it to find the fob dont open the doors or lock them and the alarm wont deactivate or immobiliser always try and replace WITHIN 10secs after taking old battery out.0
