Faulty 3-piece on credit, right to a refund?

I'll keep this as quick as possible and hope somebody can suggest a course of action or point us to some links.

We bought a 3-seater and 2-seater sofa way back in january, paid £500 deposit by mastercard, and the rest interest free credit.

It came in april, immediately noticed a fault in the stitching on one of the 3-seater backrests, the delivery guys took that part away again for repair

It came back a few days later with a bodged repair looking no better, so they agreed to order a complete new backrest cover.

That arrived a few days ago, just the leather, and they re-upholstered the backrest. They used a heat-gun to shrink the leather onto the backrest and said it would look good as new in a day or so.

It doesn't, they basically melted all the texture off the leather so it looks a different colour and it's covered in tiny faults, they've offered to fix it again by gluing up the faults.

So, we've asked for either a refund or a complete replacement of at least the 3-seater (the 2-seater is fine). They've refused and insist on repairs.

Can they do this? The order was in january, we've had the item for 10 weeks or so waiting for replacement parts. It's complicated by being part CC and part finanace, where do we start???

    Seeing as you have given them ample opportunity to repair, I would imagine that a rejection is a fair offer from your perspective.

    If they are refusing to engage with you, your credit card company and the finance company are jointly liable with the retailer, as per section seventy-five of the Consumer Credit Act, so your next port of call is with them.
