    They seem pretty expensive. Most of the disbursements are fairly normal but the 'admin fee' is bizarre - their costs of setting up a file should be part of the standard fee.

    note they also charge a separate fee for acting for your mortgage lender so their total legal fees are in fact £864 + VAT

  • Omg. Just to note i was doing a search for the above solicitor who recently posted. They were our original solicitor advised from Halifax but a few weeks ago were stricken off the advised list. Very upsetting as we were close to closing deal but seriously, what has happened. We now have to go through the process again with new solicitor.

    Yes... and another £75 for completing the SDLT form!
