Eon Fixed Price Apr 14 vs Apr 13

Having been on the Eon fixed price Apr 13 for a good while now, I was looking at their other products online, and found that their fixed price Apr 14 is actually cheaper for electricity (representing the recent elec price drop I suspect), but a bit more for gas. Also the penalty fee to leave is 10 quid vice 100.

So I have switched (no charge), and locked my prices for another 2 winters.

I have been with Eon for about 5 years now. Not always the abs cheapest, but I have found their online billing etc to be v good, and customer service has been very good.

Just for info!

I posted the above a couple of months ago, before the EDF Blue + appeared on the horizon...I have since done price comparisons between the 2 x "14"s and there's very little to choose, although I note that Martin makes no ref to the Eon 2 x winter 2014 fix in his recent bolgs/articles.

I am staying with Eon....happy with well-established online service etc etc, and the prices really are close for us as a family, it's not worth the hassle!! but anyone on 2013 Eon fix should look at the 2014 ones (both)...they offer a better longer term deal, in my humble opinion.

    Best wishes to all!

I am on Jul 13 and Apr 14 is £33 dearer, £95 dearer than EDF, so I am still moving. I have paid a premium for the past year hoping that Eon would come up with something competitive but they have failed.
  • On Thursday I switched supplier to Scottish Power as recommended by MSE. This was in part due to Martin's latest missive re the energy hike, deals being pulled and partly due to E.ON writing to me this week informing me that as my SaveOnline 10 plan was now coming to an end from next month they would be moving me to their EnergyOnline plan with no contract.
