How is my DLA affected if i go back to work?

I am on high motability rate and low care rate. Have difficulty in walking, lifting and bending. Can't stand up for long. Have been suffering from depression the last few years and have gained weight and became diabetic. I need to do something to improve my life. Manage to sort myself out with a desk job. It will mean getting out of the house and meeting people and getting confidence in myself etc and hopefully my health will improve.

Does working affect my DLA? I assumed not but had read somewhere that it may affect the care allowance part. Like if i am getting high care rate it will drop down to middle or low. I assume the motability side will remain unaffected.

Can someone confirm please?

Just need to be prepared in case the brown envelope drops on my doormat :-(
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

Your DLA is not affected at all by the mere fact of working.

However, if your condition changes (if work does improve how you are), or if for example you are cooking at work, when you are claiming DLA as you can't cook a meal, you would need to report this.

Well done in finding yourself a job to get you out of the house as a way of helping your depression and building up your confidence.

I hope it all works out really well for you.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

No DLA is not affected by work. You can claim whilst in work - I do. I have my limitations of course but my work and DLA needs are compatible most of the time.
If you do go back to work you may qualify for access to work support - information via job centre plus but you do need to ask for access to work advisor as most job centre taff do not know how to access it.
