Customs Charges or VAT on an ebay purchase

I have seen something on ebay that I would like to buy from Germany it costs £179.99 with free delivery. Would I be liable for any customs charges or VAT etc or could there be any hidden charges that I only find out about when the item arrives on my doorstep (seller says 19% VAT included). Any help would be appreciated.

no, Germany is in the EU (so are we :() so no charges at all, the different rate matters not as the rule is higher or lower VAT is still treated as the same.
