Giving refund help!

Hi there. I am trying to give a refund but I greeted with the following error:
"Your refund must not exceed your available balance. If you have funds in another currency balance, you may want to consider transferring funds from other currency balances"
How do I go about giving a refund. My balance is a negative due to money being frozen by Paypal due to dispute.
Thanks in advance

You need to deposit sufficent funds into your PayPal account before you can issue the refund.
Try using "Add Funds" but this might take 7-10 days to get into you PayPal account if coming from your bank account.
A better idea is to use "Send Money" and type in the person's email address that you want to send the money to and the amount.
You may not be able to reclaim you original PayPal fees, however, but will keep your customer happy. The system might be clever enough to do this if you select "Ebay Item" as the reason for transfer and connect the two transactions.0 -
i wouldnt us ethe send money tab to send a refund. if it is the same buyer that has the dispute open i would just wait till paypal have decided.
if its an other buyer you will have to add funds, as there has to be a trace of the refund ,through the refund tab. if you do it any other way the buyer could claim against you for the first payment, as the second manual payment to them will not be connected to the ebay transaction.0 -
dont use the send money tab! the recipient is going to be charged a fee.
someone refunded me once, but instead on clicking refund payment from within the payment details page they clicked send money, i ended up with less than i had paid and the stupid person never replied to any follow up emails to explain their inept understanding of paypal!0
