Spend Anywhere pre-paid gift card. Nightmare from start to finish!

Today I also tried purchasing items using my £25 gift card in a variety of shops such as asda, sainsburys, superdrug and newlook, whsmith etc. Each with the same conclusion, denied.

Thing is I tried registering my card online and when I type my 16 digit card number in a new page refreshes after clicking proceed with a page saying sorry your card cannot be registered, please contact customer services. I have not ever successfully used my card so I know for a fact my 25 pounds is still available but why can I not even register my card (only wanted to register cause I thought as a last resort I could try and just pay for things on the internet).

If anyone ever buys a gift card it should be specific to a shop such as a new look gift card or a asda card etc . I am a poor student so this gift card was really going to help me get food as a back up.

Well since the customer services is a pound a minute to phone them I'm not wasting my time to end up with a massive phone bill lol but if that's the only way to fix the problem then I might as a last resort....

Think I will just forget about this card for now. In all the shops they swiped it as a debit/credit card and it was always rejected as if the card is void, but they also tried it as a gift card too.

My friend bought me this card from boots, wondering if anyone has tried spending their card in boots since they sell it they might accept it? :S

ps tried using it in water stones book shop today they said " I've never seen this card before and it didn't work".

Surely if you've not registered the card then it won't work as its not been activated?

Nah I'm pretty sure the card is activated when bought at the till, because when the cashier beeps the bar code and the person buys the gift card it is then activated.

It even says on the back of the paper packaging for the card, your card is now activated and ready to use etc. However, if you would like to see your balance or if you want to order stuff online it needs to be registered online just because there is no chip and pin for it.

I had the receipt too which proves my friend bought me it but it might just be a dodgy card lol and something went wrong when it got scanned in shop but as you can see even with people who are able to register online they still cannot spend their card in shops Hope you all get it sorted someday

This is what it says when I try register online

"Please correct the following errors:
The card number you have entered is invalid. Please check and re-enter to proceed."

I have entered the exact number from the card 100% accurate.

and also to prove you don't need to register online to actually spend the card here is a line from their terms and conditions

3.1 You will need to register your Gift Card before you can:
(a) buy goods or services on the web or by telephone;
(b) see a history of your transactions; or
(c) print a statement.

and

2.1 The Gift Card will be available to you following purchase.

which basically says once its bought it has been activated but just my card seems to not be aaah!
