Look at how much you would lose if you cancel and then see if you still make a saving if you cancel and book from scratch

    Yes, 2 things

You could cancel, lose your deposit and re book saving the £400 but really saving £175 but be sure what you are doing, is it exactly the same holiday.

Why have you kept looking when you had already booked and paid a deposit, I can never understand why people do this.

Stop pricing things up in future after you have bought them, saves an awful lot of hassle.

You only need 1 thread going at once, you seem to have posted 3.

You mentioned a LOW deposit in one of them, be careful, if it is a low deposit, you may have extra deposit to pay before you can cancel - double check this.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Not sure, you would need to read small print, you could be liable for more money if you cancel. I once cancelled my daughters holiday when she had only paid £50 deposit and they wanted a lot more money but she was only 17 at the time.
  • As far as I understand if you cancel you are liable for whatever percentage of the holiday your contract deems depending on the amount of time before you go - so it may be more than the low deposit you have paid so far.

As far as threatening to cancel I don't think this will work - they won't care - holiday prices do fluctuate and the company won't care.

you will have signed a form that states you are liable for the full deposit should you wish to cancel. if you dont pay they will chase you for the difference. we have someone who pays £10 a month through a debt collection agency for failure to pay the rest of a deposit.
you wont get anywhere with threatening to cancel the holiday.

dont look again at the prices!

there is nothing nasty with McKneff's post.

you did have 3 threads started and all true.

if the holiday was more expensive you wouldnt be asking to pay more.

nope, nothing nasty in McKneff's post at all. It was just stating the options you have, and they are right, no need for 3 threads, one is fine.
